This past year has been just that… a journey into discovering Identity. And I’ve come to the conclusion that finding identity is both simple and incredibly complex.

Let me give you an example:

♥ When a new mom comes home with that little bundle of joy, she takes on the label of “Mom,” but faces the question, “Who am I now that I don’t have a career, or a paycheck, or peers who make me feel good about myself?”

♥ When those kids go to school, and she finally has a few hours to herself, but she finds herself asking, “Who am I now that I have some time, but can’t remember what I like to do anymore?”   Read more

Such a sincere question, spoken in a roomful of beautiful mommies who were gathered for a morning of companionship, encouragement, and community. Moms who are dedicated to staying connected with each other in this season of babies and toddlers.

You know that verse that says “the older women should teach the younger women”? Well, I’m not sure I like the label of ‘older woman,’ but I knew I was incredibly privileged to be invited into this intimate setting to share my experience and wisdom.

I thought for a moment. My mind started replaying those early years of having four kids under the age of 6.

I remembered the noise, the mess, the desperation for quiet…

The Many Faces of Friendship

Friendship is a fantastic thing!

But how can we define it in five short minutes? It’s impossible. Each relationship is unique. I am one type of friend to some, and to others something else. Not two-faced but unique in the various expressions of friendship.

The awesome thing is that we don’t have to choose to be just one type of friend… WE CAN BE ALL OF THEM, at different times and in different situations, to the various people around us.
