// Nobody died, nor was anyone arrested or caught doing drugs. But the bomb that went off in my world was big enough to push every ‘Identity’ button in me. And let me tell you, that button has been pushed more times in the last year than I care to count.

But why should it matter? I mean, after all, it was only one week after publishing my book, “IDENTITY: Finding the Proverbs 31 Woman in the Middle of Kid Chaos” that all hell broke loose for me. Could I not have longer than one week to enjoy my ‘success’?

I think if we’re all honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that the ‘performance’ of our kids affects our ‘feelings’ of accomplishment, doesn’t it? (Or the performance of our husbands, or parents, or puppies for that matter.)    Read more

Mother’s Day – The Forgotten Prayers

 

What a delightful surprise to wake up this morning and discover that my new book had been featured on Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday post! I was surprised, humbled, and thrilled all at the same time. Thank you, Kate! What an honour!

For the rest of the day, I’ve been trying to write my Five Minute Friday post and failing terribly. Swirling emotions and disjointed thoughts, but no words.

All I keep thinking is, “Whoa… It actually happened.”   

It’s been an incredible season of stress and stretching, excitement and vulnerability, prayer and follow-through. But it’s DONE!

The book I’ve been working on for so long, the one I’ve been talking about for years, the one I’ve been dreaming of for even longer is finally DONE!

//  The day starts out crazy and only gets crazier. Kids writing exams, students to teach, groceries to buy (again), and laundry that doesn’t seem to end. How on earth did I get here again?

I see the graphic on the wall, and I take a breath. That’s right. I can hear Anne of Green Gables say, “Today is fresh with no mistakes in it.”

The day continues, and I race around with morning activities. Busy, Busy, Busy. All good, but busy. How can I do three things at once? This is not gonna get done in time. Oops, forgot to fetch the kids from school.    Read more
