Hi! ♥ My name is Shauna Blaak, and I’m a Canadian writer and teacher who has spent the last ten years living in South Africa.
What I do
I have a BA in Theology and Music and have had over twenty-three years of experience as a writer and teacher, and ten years as a freelancer, including copywriting and content editing for numerous schools and churches.
I specialize in writing and editing for non-English speakers in a way that will be culturally relevant for anyone living in the US, Canada, or the UK.
What I’ve been doing lately
I am currently the content and technical editor for the THIRTY ONE: Magazine, a quarterly publication distributed by the Me2 Mentoring movement from Victory Church, Jeffreys Bay, South Africa.
This fantastic magazine is a collection of personal stories from women all over the world… different languages, different cultures, different worlds. My responsibility is to communicate their stories in my native English without losing the beauty and essence of their experiences.
I have also been working as a Freelancer on Upwork.com. How cool to be working with amazing clients all over the world (Canada, US, Czech Republic, and South Africa to name a few), all while enjoying life in Jeffreys Bay.
