Enough to be Awesome

// The thrill of the chase. The adrenalin of the race. The satisfaction of a word well-written. Such are the emotions of my life right now.

What an incredible journey to be writing this book. What a privilege. What a thrill.

And what a terror at the same time.

Oh my goodness, people are going to read this? What will they say? What will they think?

Do you remember those nightmares as a child, just before a big presentation, when you dream that “It’s Showtime!” and you show up without pants?

Haha. Yeah, that’s me.

It’s an incredibly vulnerable thing to share your passion with other people. Art is vulnerable. Writing is vulnerable.

Will I be enough to make this beautiful?

Will I be enough to make this powerful?

Will I be enough?

And then the words of this simple Scripture flood my mind and my heart to bring comfort and calm,

courage and confidence.

“And God is well able to lavish all His grace upon you, so that in every matter and in every way, YOU WILL HAVE ENOUGH OF EVERYTHING, and may be lavish in all your own good works” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NTE).

And I hear the Father whisper,

“I have made you ENOUGH.

Just be the tool through which I speak, and this will be pure AWESOMENESS.”

And I rest.

And I smile.

And I jump for joy and hug my dog. //

He has made me beautiful and powerful and capable. He has made me enough to be awesome! Click To Tweet

I can’t wait for you to read it!

Just the words I needed to hear today! Writing makes me vulnerable sometimes and gives me unwanted fears. But He is enough. Thanks for sharing from your heart.

Alice, I’m so glad to hear that. Art is always vulnerable, which is why we so badly need encouraging voices around us. I’m so glad you stopped by today! Have a great weekend 🙂

Hugging the dog is always a good idea.

You brought back to mind a memory from high school, when I entered a talent show to play the piano. I couldn’t read music, so I had the piece memorized, and when I got to a place where I had both hands off the keyboard…I had no idea where to put them. The audience thought it was a planned pause, but were nonplussed when I turned to them and said, “Let’s try that one again!”

So I did, and at the same place…yep.

The third time was the charm, because I closed my eyes and put my hands down…and miraculously hit the right notes, and was able to finish.

I was later told that they thought I was doing a Victor Borge, and it was ALL intentional!

    #1 at FMF this week.

You did it again, my friend. You had me in tears as I read your post, and then out-of-the-blue you come here and make me laugh. I would have LOVED to see this performance! I’ve been a piano teacher for 25 years, and I’ve seen some funny recitals, but this would’ve taken the cake. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Andrew. You are always welcome!

Yay! just when I am deeply sinking in the “accuser’s” accusations about that… and to having to repeatedly say it loud to myself and the devil that, “I AM ENOUGH.” I am enough to be an awesome mother. I am enough to be a great wife. I am enough. Even in this season when I feel extremely inadequate, which makes me feel inferior and insecure, I am enough. It’s not about the feeling, it’s the TRUTH!
THANK YOU SHAUNA… your writing really helps me greatly, not to go down the spiral. Love you, & miss you.

I would love to have your book, so timely for this momma…Will you have it online? How can I order it?

Wow, my friend. That is such a precious compliment to me! Thank you.
I think you’ve nailed it on the head here when you said that it’s not about our feelings, it’s about the Truth! You’re absolutely right. The enemy loves to speak death to the fragile heart of a mom. We need to seek and protect Words of Life from the Father! That’s what the book is all about. It’ll be available both on Amazon and Kindle. I’ll keep everybody up-to-date over the next four weeks, and will eventually post the link on the book page here… http://blaaklistwriters.com/momawesomeness-book1-identity/

      HOORAY! Can’t wait!

Congratulations on your upcoming book. I know you’re excited and have faced many fears in the process. So thankful you’ve listened to the voice telling you He makes you enough. Yes!
