Five Minute Friday – TEAM
Hooray, it’s Friday! Every Friday, I join a special group of writers to write for FIVE MINUTES on a one-word prompt. No editing. No revising. Just WRITE. This week, the word is TEAM! Go! //

So, a couple of years ago, Joshua (now 18 years old) comes home from school and says to me, “Mom, when I die, I want all the people I did group projects with to lower me into my grave….” [ whoa, what?! What are you talking about?] “… so they can let me down one more time.” Ohhhhhh, I get it. He had read it on a meme somewhere, but it expressed his frustrations perfectly. I get it! Here’s a shout-out to all the moms who also hate group projects! I hate them. And in highschool, they get even worse.
We are not really a sports family. I mean, we like sports, but we don’t live for sports. We are a Culture Family. We do worship team. We do song-writing. We do drama, words, band practice, and music lessons. We do arts and culture. We do emotions and expression.
But you don’t have to understand sports in order to understand TEAM. Team is crucial when it comes to the arts! We understand needing everyone to play their part!
leaders / musicians/ singers / media / sound
It’s about unity, and synergy, and blend. It’s about rosters and service and faithfulness. There is no room for dead weight on a team.
We adore our team and thank God every day for them! Can I brag a bit? Check out the video below. This is my team! As one of my fellow bloggers said recently… “No one does anything great by doing it alone.” [Thanks, Christina!]

STOP Ephesians 4:16 NLT says it this way…
“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”

Thanks for visiting me over at my place. I am more an arts person too. But agree teamwork is important there too!
I’m not much of a sports person either, but I am into music. I was part of a music team at our former church and it does take everyone working together. Thanks for sharing your team with us! Blessings!
Thanks, Gayl. I’m so glad you visited. See you next week on FMF.
Ah I tried to comment the other day but couldn’t figure out how for some reason! So cool to see your team in action – nice to see good examples of groups that can work together and make something powerful 🙂
Hi! I’m so sorry for the confusion. We did some upgrading on Thursday, and it wasn’t until 8 hours after posting this article that I realized the comments function had been turned off. Agh! Thanks so much for coming back. 🙂 I love this community!
Sorry to get here so late, Shauna. Had a bit of an issue over the weekend with pain amnesia. Didn’t quite know what year it was.
Your son ROCKS. Yes, it’s cynical, but I totally get the attitude! And I LOVE the way he expressed it.
Y’all will have me laughing for a week with that one…and I am a person who very rarely smiles, and almost never laughs. Pat on the back for the dude.
#2 at FMF if I remember right.
Haha, Andrew! I must admit, I was a little nervous about putting it in my post lest I offend or hurt someone. I’m so glad we could make you laugh! (he IS a funny kid 🙂
I’m sooo sorry to hear that you’ve not been well. My goodness, I’ve never even heard of pain amnesia. Does it happen often? I will definitely agree with you for healing!
