//  The day started early with the hour-long drive.

Erwin and our eldest daughter had already returned back to Jeffreys Bay for work and school. The other three children and I had remained behind to finish the last of the packing and sorting, and of course to help Grandma and Grandpa at the lake.

Before long, the cabin was a whir of activity. Mowers, chainsaws, axes, brooms, and rakes. It was that time again, time to clean up the yard and prepare it for winter.

I would avoid issues, I would avoid stressful situations, and I would avoid getting angry… that is until the situation got so bad that I would simply POP.

//  The day starts out crazy and only gets crazier. Kids writing exams, students to teach, groceries to buy (again), and laundry that doesn’t seem to end. How on earth did I get here again?

I see the graphic on the wall, and I take a breath. That’s right. I can hear Anne of Green Gables say, “Today is fresh with no mistakes in it.”

The day continues, and I race around with morning activities. Busy, Busy, Busy. All good, but busy. How can I do three things at once? This is not gonna get done in time. Oops, forgot to fetch the kids from school.    Read more
